As some of you know, I found out that my favorite coffee shop closed down this week – or, more specially, I found out that it was closed this week as I was awol for two weeks due to being sick.
This closer poses several problems as this shop was the source of my tea leaves and Chai mixture…however, the worse problem was the challenge to find a new place to de-stress during my lunch hour.
Luckily God sent some help yesterday in the form of a friend who suggested getting a cup of coffee at the Moxie Java on Five Mile and Overland. Not having anything else going on, I agreed to the meeting and wondered over their thinking that it would be a small, stale place with hard chairs and an echo.
Arriving, I was pleasantly surprised to find a large room with tons of couches, tables, chairs and paintings – not to mention a nice relaxing atmosphere.
When my friend arrived, I discovered that this particular Moxie was not part of the large chain. Instead it was a family owned coffee shop that has been operating for years (I’m guessing that it was one of the first Moxie before they went big).
Now, if they only served loose leaf tea….
